7 p.m. on (8) (18) New Amsterdam.

After a chaotic year of hardship and sacrifice, medical director Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) and his team at New Amsterdam begin a well-earned new chapter in their lives as Season 4 opens with a premiere optimistically titled “More Joy.” For Max, that means finally surrendering to his long-simmering feelings for colleague Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman), while Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) finds her way through a promising relationship with new resident Dr. Leyla Shinwari (Shiva Kalaiselvan). Michelle Forbes guest stars as a new doctor who clashes with Max.

8 p.m. on (8) (14) FBI.

After a young woman is murdered on her way home from an opulent yacht party, the team investigates who the victim was and what led her inside one of the most influential social circles in the world in the Season 4 premiere “All That Glitters.” Meanwhile, Maggie (Missy Peregrym) brings Crosby (Kellan Lutz, guest starring in his “FBI Most Wanted” role) into the investigation after a murder suspect is identified as a military veteran who had been on several Army operations with Crosby.

8 p.m. on (9) (15) The Resident.

Is Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) about to become a widower? He and his longtime love, nurse Nicolette Nevin (Emily VanCamp), tied the knot and welcomed a daughter in Season 4, but fans of the “CoNic” relationship were rocked by VanCamp’s August bombshell announcement that she isn’t returning for Season 5, which premieres tonight. (Another lead character, Shaunette Renée Wilson’s Dr. Mina Okafor, also left the medical drama at the end of last season). Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Malcolm JamalWarner and Jane Leeves return to their familiar roles.

9 p.m. on (9) (15) Our Kind of People.

Inspired by a non-fiction book by Lawrence Otis Graham, this new drama takes place in the affluent Oak Bluffs section of Martha’s Vineyard, where members of the rich and powerful Black elite have come to play for more than 50 years. The series revolves around strong-willed single mother Angela Vaughn (Yaya DaCosta, “Chicago Med”) as she arrives to reclaim her family name and launch a natural hair care line. Morris Chestnut, Joe Morton (“Scandal”), Lance Gross (“Hawaii Five-0”) and newcomer Alana Bright also star. Lee Daniels (“Empire”) is an executive producer.

10 p.m. on (8) (14) FBI: International.

Mega-producer Dick Wolf launches the third entry in his “FBI” franchise with this new procedural drama, which follows the elite operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Fly Team. Headquartered in Prague, these top agents are tasked with tracking and neutralizing threats against American citizens wherever they might occur, although they’re not allowed to carry guns. In the “Pilot,” Special Agent Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank, “Bones”) and his team head to Croatia to help Isobel Castille (guest star Alana De La Garza, “FBI”) capture an American fugitive.
