Cyclist hit at Bay and Government

A cyclist was taken to hospital Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle in the intersection at Bay and Government streets.

Paramedics provided emergency treatment at the scene before the cyclist was transported to hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries that will require significant treatment and a long recovery period, Victoria police said.

Roads in the area reopened about 9:45 a.m. after police collected evidence from the scene.
