Royals bow out with defeat

The Royals concluded their Western Hockey League season with a 4-3 shootout loss before 6,947 fans. The Royals finished 17-43-8 and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The Silvertips (33-32-3) will meet the Portland Winterhawks in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
